Unified Home Care Merges with AHC

(High Point, NC, November 18, 2008) Effective December 1, Advanced Home Care, a hospital-affiliated, not for profit organization that specializes in providing a full range of home health care services, will be merging with Unified Home Care. Unified is a freestanding home health agency, owned by Moses Cone Health System and Morehead Memorial Hospital, and serves the residents of Rockingham County and surrounding areas. This merger will allow Advanced Home Care to provide skilled nursing, therapy, social work, home health aide, and infusion services to patients in this area in a more efficient manner.
Unified Home Care was established in 1997 through a merger of the home health divisions of Annie Penn Hospital and the Rockingham County Health Department. Through the upcoming merger in December, Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden will become a part owner of Advanced Home Care and will have representation on the Advanced Home Care governing board.
Advanced Home Care's senior leadership team, as well as representatives of Unified Home Care, are working diligently to ensure that the changes will result in a smooth transition and that patients experience no disruptions in service as a result of the merger.
