(High Point, NC, April 9, 2009)   The Association for Home & Hospice Care of North Carolina (AHHC) recently announced that Debbie Harper of Advanced Home Care is the 2009 recipient of the Administrative Support Person of the Year Award.

The award recipients will be honored at an award ceremony on April 27, 2009 in Raleigh, NC. Timothy Rogers, AHHC's CEO, explains, "This is a special time for the Association and for the state of North Carolina. These compassionate people are dedicated to promoting healing, extending life, and alleviating pain and suffering, all the while keeping families together and providing the greatest degree of freedom, independence, and dignity possible for patients."

The award for Administrative Support Person of the Year is given in recognition of unmatched commitment to the home care industry through community involvement, active participation in agency committees, professional growth, and excellence in job performance. Debbie Harper, Administrative Assistant for Advanced Home Care's Triad pharmacy, was selected as the recipient of this award for her outstanding contributions to home care and her dedication to the clinical team she supports.

After becoming certified in Medical Transcription from Guilford Technical Community College in September of 2003, Debbie began her career as the Administrative Assistant for Advanced Home Care's Triad-based pharmacy. In this role, Debbie is responsible for managing incoming telephone calls to the pharmacy, completing new referral demographic information, data entry of patient information, collecting lab reports and values, along with many other special projects. Her most notable value to Advanced Home Care's pharmacy comes in the form of excellent customer service, both internally and externally. Not only is Debbie requested by name by Advanced Home Care's patients and referral sources, but she also works locally and regionally to train and mentor new Administrative Assistants within the organization.

Janice Wilhelm, Vice President of Specialty Clinical Services for Advanced Home Care, had the following to say about Ms. Harper, "Debbie is the glue that keeps our Triad pharmacy running! She is an advocate for our patients, has an unrivaled work ethic, and really takes care of her team."
