Oxygen Travel Progam

Do you dream of seeing Mount Rushmore in all its glory? Have you always wanted to fly to California and see the Great Redwood Forest? Longing to take a vacation with your children along the coast? You can, even if you have health considerations that need assistance.

Advanced Home Care's oxygen travel program will help. You'll discover that traveling with oxygen and medical equipment can be comfortable and convenient. By planning and following a few important guidelines, you can travel almost anywhere on short car trips or on longer journeys around the United States. Call your local Advanced Home Care branch and request further information and assistance.

Now, let's talk details... Traveling is as easy as following these simple steps:

Step 1: See your doctor. As soon as you decide to travel, make an appointment with your doctor. He or she will need to know where you are going, how long you will be gone, and what form of transportation you will take. Knowing these specifics will enable your doctor to make any necessary changes in your prescription during your trip. For example, if you are visiting an area with a different altitude or climate, your prescription may need to be adjusted.

Your doctor will give you a copy of your prescription so you can obtain oxygen refills on your trip if you choose not to use a portable concentrator. It's important to keep a copy of your prescription with you, everywhere you go.

Step 2: Call Advanced Home Care. Once you have seen your doctor, call your local Advanced Home Care branch two weeks before you plan on leaving. This two-week time frame is necessary to allow us to make arrangements and to ensure that we have the equipment available that you need for travel.

Step 3: Make your travel arrangements. The easiest way to ensure a smooth trip is to travel with a portable oxygen concentrator.

If you choose to take additional tanks or liquid oxygen on your trip, arrangements can be made for you with another provider. You will be responsible for paying the provider at the time of delivery. When you return home, simply submit your receipt to Advanced Home Care for a pro-rated reimbursement. This amount will be based on what your insurance pays to Advanced Home Care.

Step 4: If you need refills, your representative will make advanced arrangements with another provider at your destination(s).

Step 5: Have fun!

What is My Cost? If you are currently renting your equipment from Advanced Home Care there is no cost for a portable oxygen concentrator.
