(High Point, NC, February 9, 2009)  The corporate Wellness Team at Advanced Home Care encouraged employees to wear red on Friday, February 6, 2009, as part of National Wear Red Day. The event is dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of heart disease on women.

"National Wear Red Day is a great opportunity for us to band together and make our community and our staff more aware of their personal risk factors for heart disease," said Linda Causey, RN, Advanced Home Care's Wellness Program Chair and Employee Health Nurse.

Advanced Home Care had nearly 80 employees participate in Friday's event by wearing red. Those staff members posed for a group picture at the company's corporate headquarters in High Point, and were featured in WXII 12's local news coverage of the event.

Advanced Home Care is currently working with the American Heart Association on their corporate sponsorship of the upcoming "Start! Heart Walk," which will be taking place in Greensboro on May 30, 2009. The company will begin their internal fundraising efforts next month, coordinated by Advanced Home Care's Employee Council.
