A New Ostomy Program
I am writing to compliment you and your staff for the wonderful home health care I've received at your hands. Initially, Sara came out to evaluate me and she did a great job.
However, I'd like to single out Lori for her knowledge, her patience, and her rare gift of giving me the confidence I needed in my supplies and my ability to handle a bizarre colostomy stoma. I had suffered a severe crisis in confidence in my ability and my products and Lori not only helped me find a system which works well for me but, she had the additional gift of boosting my morale in order to handle my colostomy in a way which it would not rule my life. Her knowledge is well trained and developed, her instructions were easy to follow but, more than that, she has a gift of instilling in a patient the confidence and dedication to the task. I find this most rare and will never be able to repay her for what she's done for me.
When I was able to work I found that, in my profession, people were only motivated to write or call with complaints. I'd like to go on record as saying that, in Lori, you have a well trained, well educated nurse who goes above and beyond the call of duty in the empathy she displays for her patients, and her rare ability to inspire and motivate a patient to believe wholeheartedly that they can handle the new system provided by your excellent health care. She has been patient, understanding, and remarkably equipped to give me the confidence I needed so badly to try and excel at a new ostomy program, with new equipment and new philosophy in dealing with it. I cannot praise her enough.
Thank you for listening to a terrified patient who has found exactly what I need through the encouragement of Lori. I hope this letter will go into her file and let you know what a truly excellent employee you have in Lori. I can't praise or thank her enough.
I would like to, additionally, praise your entire staff and program for home health care. Lori has taken a woman who couldn't hold a seal, and was terrified to leave her home and transformed her into a woman who believes she can handle this and resume her life (albeit disabled by problems created by radiation) without fear of leaving home.
Please convey to Lori how very much I appreciate her help, and how deeply gratefull I am for her support. You have a very gifted woman in your employ, and I hope she is given her due appreciation by the Home Care Service.
