Medical Social Therapy
The medical social workers at Advanced Home Care help patients and their families solve any financial or social problems that are interfering with the process of recovering from an illness, surgery or life-changing event.
All of our medical social workers are trained in social work or a related field and have received any additional licensure as required by the state in which they operate. Some areas with which our social workers can assist include the following:
- Preparing advanced directives, such as a living will or healthcare power of attorney
- Contacting community service programs, such as Meals on Wheels or medication assistance programs
- Applying for federal or state assistance programs, such as Medicaid
- Overcoming unsafe, neglectful or potentially violent home environments
