AHC Helps Triad Flight of Honor

Advanced Home Care was recently recognized by representatives of the Triad Flight of Honor, a service project of Rotary District 7690 in North Carolina's Piedmont Region. AHC donated wheelchairs and oxygen concentrators for the inaugural flight on October 3, 2009.

Triad Flight of Honor serves to celebrate local World War II veterans by coordinating and financing trips to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., covering the travel expenses and tour fees for 101 Piedmont-Triad veterans. Advanced Home Care donated medical equipment and supplies that many of the veterans needed in order to attend this year's tour.

Now in their 80's and 90's, many individuals making the trip have medical needs that require specialized travel oxygen systems and mobility devices, such as wheelchairs. As the day wore on, members of the Triad Flight of Honor were unsure how they were going to meet the ongoing medical needs of these veterans. With Advanced Home Care's in-kind service, members of the Triad Flight of Honor were able to properly salute the local men and women of World War II.
